The Tertiary Sisters of St. Francis (TSSF) of St Francis Province gathered from 22 to 25 March 2026 at St Joseph’s Convent in Shisong, Cameroon, for their Provincial Assembly—an important meeting dedicated to reviewing their shared life and mission and setting priorities for the future.

The Assembly brought together sisters from across the Province in a spirit of prayer, reflection, and collective discernment. Guided by the theme “Deepening Our Commitment for Mission Effectiveness,” the gathering focused on strengthening the Congregation’s service in a changing context.

A central part of the Assembly was the presentation of reports by the Provincial Leadership Team. These covered key areas of the Province’s work, including spiritual life, formation, education, healthcare, pastoral ministry, and finance. Together, they provided a comprehensive picture of the Province’s current realities and future needs.

Through group discussions, plenary sessions, and shared reflection, participants identified both strengths and challenges, and proposed practical strategies to strengthen their mission. Particular attention was given to deepening Franciscan spirituality, nurturing community life, and promoting greater collaboration across ministries.

“We are called to be bridge builders of peace and reconciliation.”

Spiritual reflections during the Assembly emphasised this call to be bridge builders of peace and reconciliation, rooted in a personal encounter with Christ and expressed through the witness of life.

The Assembly concluded with a commissioning ceremony, during which participants were sent back to their communities with renewed energy and a shared commitment to implement the resolutions adopted.

“Sent forth as light, we carry hope to our communities and the world.”
