21 May 2022 – Jubilee is here once again, a time to celebrate,  jubilate, return to the sources, and reconnect with God in a more profound way. It is a time of stock-taking and strategic planning in the Lord’s Service for the next years. It is always a moment of gratitude to God for his unconditional love and faithfulness, a time to evaluate how faithful and prophetic one has been in witnessing the Gospel message.

Faithful to our TSSF tradition, the Jubilee of Religious Profession was celebrated in three Provinces and in the Generalate. In the Generalate, the Golden Jubilee of Sr. Alponsa Kiven and Sr. Cäcilia Oberhammer (General Councilors) was celebrated on May 21 in “Chiesa di Santa Maria Immacolata di Lourdes” in Rome.

In the Provincial House in Hall the Diamond Jubilee of Sr. Edeltraud Stocker and the Golden Jubilee of Sr. Maria Patrizia Pietruschka, Sr. Andrea Maria Gsaller, Sr. Maria Theresia Oberwalder and Sr. Klara Maria Fankhauser were celebrated on June 18, 2022.

In Cameroon, the Golden Jubilee of Sisters Euphrasia Yuh, Eva Maria Kaufhold, Luke Ntein, Alphonsa Kiven, Prisca Bonapti, Canisius Maliva, Bridget Manka, as well as the Silver Jubilee of Religious Life of Sisters Victoire Wirnkar, Rosalia Nangsinla, Bertha Bangsi and Brendaline Maikem were celebrated on July 31, 2022.

In the Province of Brixen, the following Sisters celebrated their Jubilee of Religious Profession on August 13, 2022 at the Mother House in Brixen:

75 Years Sr. Felix Malsiner;

70 Years: Sr. Filomena Federspieler and Sr. Josefa Felderer;

60 Years: Sr. Claudia Pföstl, Sr. Rosalinde Kirchler and Sr. Fabiola Emer;

50 Years: Sr. Cäcilia Oberhammer.

Jubilee Celebrations are important for the TSSF  because they provide the opportunity to go down memory lane and revisit one’s vocation story acknowledge with utter amazement God’s unconditional love and evaluate how prophetic one has witnessed the Gospel message.

Addressing Consecrated persons during the Feast of the Presentation on February 2, 2019, Pope Francis underlined the importance of evaluating, returning to the source: retracing in our mind the decisive moments of our encounter with Him, to renew our first love, perhaps writing down our love story with the Lord”.  A Jubilee Year is also a perfect time to return to the source and rewrite our love stories.

He further said, “Consecrated Life is about praise and prophetic vision: praise which gives joy to God’s people, a prophetic vision which counts”. The Jubilee of Consecrated Life is the perfect time to render unqualified gratitude and praise to God. It is also a time of gratitude because as Roman statesman Cicero wrote, “Gratitude is not only the greatest of virtues, but the parent of all others.” Jubilee time is, therefore, a time to cultivate the virtue of gratitude. An opportune moment to turn in gratitude to the Author of all the graces and consolations received down the years while bearing in mind that  “grace will always be given to the one who is grateful…” (Thomas  A Kempis, The Imitation of Christ).

Despite the challenges experienced down the years, the sisters remained open to the will of God and faithful to the legacy of Venerable Maria Hueber, striving daily to keep the flame of their vocation aglow while relying on “the grace of the Holy Spirit to continue working greater things through them for his greater glory” (M.H.).
