Ministry to Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons

Our ministry to refugees and the internally displaced is some of the most complex, difficult, and heart-wending work that we do. It’s also among the most rewarding.

We work in the chaos of war zones as families flee violence just miles down the road. We also work continents away, where we resettle families into new lives.

Whatever the circumstances, it’s a work of love and mercy, and one that brings great joy to us and the families we work with.

Ministry in action

Civil War in Cameroon

Cameroon-Nigeria border

The Anglophone Crisis, also called the Cameroonian Civil War, has wrought a ruinous humanitarian toll. The war’s intense and indiscriminate fighting has displaced more than 775,000 people from their homes.

Serving these people with grace, dignity, and God’s love is one of the Tertiary Sisters’ most complex and most meaningful ministries.

Refugees in Europe

South Tyrol, Italy and North Tyrol, Austria

The brutal wars in Ukraine and Syria have led to the largest movement of refugees to Europe since the Second World War.

Learn how we’ve undertaken one of our most important missions: The housing and care of these refugees in the cities of our founding.
